From B Corp Certification to Regeneration

In 2021, Jump became a certified B Corporation, achieving a score of 90.2. This was more than just a certification. It was a defining moment that marked the start of our journey to embed purpose, sustainability, and positive impact into every facet of how we operate.

Three years later, in 2024, we are thrilled to have recertified with a score of 119.1 - a 28.9 point increase.

While this improved score is a significant milestone, the greater achievement lies in the tangible actions and improvements we’ve made along the way. These efforts underscore our evolving role as a business dedicated to driving environmental and social progress.

This recertification represents a period of reflection, growth, and alignment across our organisation. For the first time, it encompasses the entire Jump Group, including Monddi, our in-house design studio in Wales. This inclusion represents a major step in ensuring our values and practices are unified across every division of our business.

Building on a Foundation Beyond Sustainability

From the outset, our commitment to sustainability has been a guiding principle. However, we’ve always viewed B Corp certification as a starting point, not an endpoint. Sustainability, for us, is not a static goal; it’s a dynamic, ongoing process of improvement.

Over the past three years, we’ve expanded our ambitions to embrace “regeneration” - a philosophy that goes beyond reducing harm to actively restoring and revitalising the systems that support life.

Shifting to a Regenerative Mindset

Adopting this regenerative mindset has led us to take actions that create meaningful benefits for the environment, our communities, and the stakeholders we work with. Here are some of the ways we’ve turned this vision into reality:

Planting More Trees Than We Print

Through our ongoing partnership with Ecologi, we’ve planted 260,559 trees since 2021. These reforestation projects support biodiversity, restore ecosystems, and empower in-need communities around the world.

Supporting Local Wildlife

Locally, we’ve committed over 1,000 hours to volunteering efforts aimed at restoring habitats and conserving ecosystems in the UK. These projects range from cleaning rivers, to picking up litter, to planting trees; connecting us to the natural world and underscoring our responsibility to protect it.

Backing Local Charities

Community support has been central to our ethos. Through donations and partnerships with local charities, we’ve contributed to causes that address both environmental challenges and social inequality, helping to make a difference where it matters most.

Cutting Greenhouse Gas Emissions

Since 2021, we’ve continually reduced our GHG emissions, thanks to responsible sourcing, operational efficiencies, and investments in renewable energy. This progress aligns with our broader goal of achieving Net Zero emissions in the near future.

Achieving Zero Waste to Landfill

Waste management has been a cornerstone of our environmental efforts. By implementing circular production practices, we’ve diverted 47.42 tonnes of production waste from landfill and achieved a recycling rate of 99.1% in 2023.

Sourcing Responsibly

Every material we use reflects our commitment to sustainability. From FSC-certified paper to 100% plastic-free packaging, we’ve prioritised choices that minimise environmental impact and align with our values.

The Numbers Behind the Progress

Our actions over the past three years have translated into measurable outcomes that illustrate the depth of our impact. Some key highlights from 2021 to 2024 include:

42% lower GHG emissions than the average UK printer.

31% of turnover in 2023 came from purpose-driven clients, including charities, non-profits, B Corps, and educational institutions.

260,559 trees planted in our Ecologi forest.

47.42 tonnes of waste diverted from landfill.

696.31 tCO2e emissions prevented through verified GHG avoidance projects.

149 tCO2e emissions removed through verified carbon capture projects.

● A recycling rate of 99.1% in 2023.

1000 volunteer hours.

Living Wage certified for the past three years.

These numbers are a reflection of our progress, but they also serve as a reminder of the work still to be done. They highlight the importance of sustained effort and investment in sustainable and regenerative practices.

Lessons from our Journey

The recertification process has been an opportunity to reflect on what we’ve accomplished and to identify areas for improvement. It’s been a challenging but rewarding journey, particularly as we worked to align the practices of the entire Jump Group, including Monddi.

One of the most valuable lessons we’ve learned is the importance of collaboration. From working with suppliers to reduce emissions to partnering with conservation groups for local projects, collaboration has amplified our impact. We’ve also recognised that lasting change requires integrating sustainability into every decision we make - big or small.

Is B Corp still for us?

B Corp certification is central to who we are at Jump, shaping the way we operate and pushing us to continuously improve. It’s a framework that keeps us accountable to the highest standards of social and environmental performance.. We continue to use B Corp as the foundation for our other complementary certifications, such as ISO 9001, 14001, 27001, and 45001, aligning all our systems and practices with a unified commitment to excellence. Being part of the B Corp movement inspires us to lead by example, showing that business can be a force for good while delivering real impact for our clients, our people, and the planet. It’s not just a certification - it’s a mindset that drives us to constantly challenge ourselves, innovate, and stay true to our purpose.

Looking Ahead: A Regenerative Future

For us, B Corp recertification is not an end goal but a step forward. It represents a commitment to continued progress and an invitation to challenge ourselves with new and ambitious goals.

What’s Next?

Reaching Net Zero

Eliminating residual emissions across all areas of our operations is a critical focus. Building on the reductions we’ve already achieved, we’re working to meet our goal of Net Zero emissions.

Enhancing Circular Practices

By innovating ways to reuse, repurpose, and recycle materials, we aim to further close the loop in our production processes and reduce waste.

Increasing Local Impact

We’re expanding our volunteering and philanthropic initiatives, prioritising projects that directly benefit local communities and wildlife.

Strengthening Partnerships

We’re committed to growing the percentage of turnover derived from purpose-driven clients by fostering deeper collaborations with organisations that share our values.

The Broader Context

Our recertification journey reflects a growing global understanding that business success and responsibility are not mutually exclusive. The challenges of climate change, biodiversity loss, and social inequality require collective action. As part of the B Corp community, we’re proud to be part of a movement working to create a more equitable, sustainable world.

Gratitude and Reflection

We couldn’t have achieved this without the unwavering support of our clients, partners, and team members. Your engagement and trust have driven our progress, and for that, we are deeply grateful.

We’re also inspired by the B Corp community, which has shown us the power of shared knowledge and collaboration. Together, we can amplify our efforts and drive meaningful change.

A Shared Responsibility

At Jump, we see our role as more than just running a responsible business. We aim to contribute to a better world. Regeneration is a shared responsibility, and we’re committed to doing our part while inspiring others to join us.

Anti-greenwashing

We are deeply committed to anti-greenwashing and transparency, ensuring all our sustainability claims are accurate, verified, and meaningful. Our progress is measured and validated using internationally recognised standards such as the IPCC GHG Protocol, with third-party verification for carbon reductions, waste management, and other impact metrics. By publishing annual Impact Reports and relying on credible certifications like FSC and Ecologi, we maintain accountability and foster trust. For us, B Corp certification is not just a badge - it’s a commitment to integrity, where every claim we make reflects genuine, measurable action.

Final Thoughts

Recertification has been about more than meeting standards; it’s been about growing as an organisation and aligning our work with a larger vision of sustainability and regeneration. We’re proud of what we’ve achieved, but we know this is just the beginning.

Change takes time, effort, and collaboration. We’re ready to continue working toward that change, step by step, for a greener, fairer, and more regenerative future.
